Zhoushan City now has a total dock capacity of about 6.8 million tons, and is equipped with large-scale outfitting docks, processing workshops, and various international advanced modern shipbuilding equipment such as large cranes.
Thanks to the continuous promotion of high-quality development in the shipbuilding industry by the Zhoushan Municipal Party Committee and Government, from January to July this year, Zhoushan City has delivered an impressive "report card": the output value of its large-scale shipbuilding industry reached 24.43 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 27.0%, accounting for more than 70% of Zhejiang Province. Completed 1.93 million deadweight tons of shipbuilding, acquired 5.95 million deadweight tons, and held 12.02 million deadweight tons, with year-on-year growth of 84.2%, 54.7%, and 67.4% respectively; 2663 ships were repaired, achieving a production value of 12.44 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 21.5%, accounting for more than 35% of the country's total and about 20% of the world's total, continuously consolidating its position as the world's largest ship repair and modification base.
