Journalists learned from Zhoushan Customs that from January to November this year, Zhoushan Customs issued a total of 862 RCEP (Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership) certificates of origin, a year-on-year increase of 7.2%, with preferential trade value reaching 1.49 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 36.3%. Over the three years since the implementation of RCEP, the policy dividends have continued to shine, providing more opportunities for Zhoushan enterprises to enhance competitiveness and expand their overseas market share.
Recently, Zhoushan Customs issued an RCEP certificate of origin for a batch of fresh-cut branch products such as Ligustrum and Black Pine, valued at 1.11 million yuan, for Zhoushan Green Boat Agricultural Co., Ltd. The company mainly engages in the cultivation and management of flowers and trees, with products mainly exported to countries such as Japan. With the RCEP certificate of origin issued by the customs, the import duties on these goods will be reduced from 3% to 0 upon arrival in Japan.
"Thanks to the tariff concessions of RCEP, our export products can enter the overseas market at a more advantageous price. We have applied for more than 100 RCEP certificates of origin, saving over 450,000 yuan in tariffs, which greatly increases the competitiveness of our products in the international market," said Chen Zhou, the person in charge of Zhoushan Green Boat Agricultural Co., Ltd.
RCEP is the world's largest free trade agreement in terms of population coverage and economic scale, which officially came into effect on January 1, 2022. Over the past three years, Zhoushan enterprises have relied on policy dividends, actively gone global, enhanced export competitiveness, and expanded their overseas market share.
To help enterprises seize opportunities, win orders, and expand markets with RCEP, Zhoushan Customs has built a platform for customs-enterprise exchanges, increased policy promotion and targeted services, and achieved information sharing of convenient measures and preferential policies. It actively promotes the agreement's tariff concessions and rules of origin to enterprises in its jurisdiction, helping them fully explore the preferential space for their products. At the same time, it deepens the implementation of intelligent review and self-service printing of certificates of origin, guiding enterprises to fully enjoy policy dividends through free trade agreements.
